Get yourself ready for the next events in Paris

Summer is gently flowing by and we are all making the most of it. Nonetheless, it’s time to think about September and the next events in Paris. At the Hotel Castex we like to keep our finger on the pulse of everything that’s happening in our city, so we can certainly point you in the direction of some events of considerable interest, particularly if you like to keep up with happenings in the fields of design and fashion. Additionally, when you stay with us in our central location you will find it easy to reach the venues we mention below.

From the Old to the New; Something for all tastes

The beauty, elegance and craftsmanship of the past will be prominently on display amidst the impressive and lovely surroundings of the Grand Palais from September 11th to 21st. That is when the much anticipated Biennale des Antiquaires show takes place. Leading experts and dealers in fine art, antiques and objets d’art from all over the world come together to present the best items in their possession. Authenticity, quality and integrity are the watchwords and you will be spellbound.

If you feel that you would rather see something a little more up to date, however, you have the option of checking out Paris Design Week from September 6th to 13th. At venues scattered across the capital you will find events, exhibitions, shows and parties relating to all aspects of design from furniture to gastronomy and from clothing to décor. Wide ranging and free, it’s completely without boundaries and all the more exhilarating for that.

A selection of upcoming professional trade fairs in Paris

A number of trade fairs will be taking place around the same time and there is a general overlap of subject matter in those we are about to mention. Of these, Bijorhca takes place at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre. The rest will be situated in the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre.

Bijorhca is an international exposition devoted to fashion jewellery and watches, including couture jewellery, fashion accessories, elements, finishings and piercings. Taking place September 5th to 8th it showcases the latest developments, trends, products and services in the field.

Decoration, home furnishings and interior design are placed in the spotlight at Maison & Objet, September 5th to 9th, a renowned and internationally important event. Cuir à Paris, September 16th to 18th focusses on new trends in the leather and fur sector, including footwear, furnishings and upholstery.

The world’s leading fabric show, featuring over 700 exhibitors from 30 countries in a high-tech design exhibition space, is Premiere Vision. Around 60,000 visitors are expected to attend this one, which takes place September 16th to 18th, as do all of the following. Expofil is a show of yarns and fibres with a strong environmental and eco-friendly theme. Trims and supplies for fashion and design such as buttons, buckles, embroidery, lace, braids and labels are the attraction at Modamont. Finally, Indigo is a creative textile and surface design show at which 150 to 180 studios present their collections.
